Paper + Ink + Curves.

My talented friend is in the business of putting ink on paper in beautiful, flowing, creative curves.

Meet Kim. The owner and creative hand behind Wave Crest Calligraphy. Inspired by the ocean waves, elegant lines and purpose are found in each of Kim's designs. She designs anything and everything wedding related (see my wedding envelopes below!), chalkboard signage, monograms, and anything you need written with a steady, expert hand.

Owner of Wave Crest Calligraphy

Kim and I met years ago while working in Nantucket.  We both have that love of the ocean and have spent a lot of time playing with the sea and the wind on boats. After two summers in Nantucket we went separate ways to explore new dreams, mine in photography and Kim in calligraphy.

I've had the opportunity to put together some head shots and samples of her work over the past year, and I have to say, working with small businesses is one of my favorite jobs as a photographer. It is so fun to try and create the look and brand that each business wants to shine through. Luckily, Kim and I both have a passion for the sea and all things nautical, so when she gave me her ideas, I had no hesitation.

Checkout her beautiful work!

Calligraphy is a making a come back these days after years of Asian and European influence. It seems that everyone is looking for a great calligrapher for wedding invitations, menus, and the like. The perfect lettering can make all the difference - it shows elegance, style and simplicity. Kim is certainly learning to perfect the timeless art of writing!
