Winter weddings in New England are unfortunately somewhat of a rarity with the frigid temps and inclement weather leading to botched travel plans. LUCKILY, Kate and Bryan were not scared by this at all and totally embraced their elegant country wedding at Bittersweet Farm in Westport, MA. And I will say, hands down, that winter weddings are magical - cozy, intimate receptions with twinkly lights, candles, and snow on the ground make for a beautiful winter wedding!
Kate + Bryan's love story is the cozy, curl up on the couch with a rich glass of red wine kind of love story. These two met online and as I learned during their toasts, had a 99% compatibility match!! Kate and Bryan dated for a few years before Bryan and Kate proposed to each other on their couch after Kate had had a two week ordeal with appendicitis. For these two introverts and best friends, it was the perfect way to promise each other a lifetime together.
Kate and Bryan both love the coziness of New England winters, which is why they opted for a winter wedding in Westport, MA and an after party in Providence where Kate has many fond memories from her time at Brown University! A little untraditionally, their daytime wedding started with guests enjoying a mimosa cocktail hour, followed by an intimate ceremony and reception in Bittersweet's barn! The post-and-beam barn and twinkly lights throughout gave the perfect elegant country vibe with floor-to-ceiling windows for that beautiful natural afternoon light.
Enjoy my favorites from Kate & Bryan's cozy winter barn wedding!
Congratulations Kate + Bryan - cheers to many years of adventures together, great cocktails and love for each other. xx
