Janet and Richard were not my typical bride and groom. Janet is 83 years old - spunky, timeless, kind, and passionately in love with Richard. She is a widow, mother of five boys, friend, and retired event planner. She is just oh so lovely. Oh, and last month she actually turned 84! Richard is a total sweetheart - head over heels for Janet - father of a beautiful daughter, and a talented architect who designed the controversial Nantucket Boat Basin back in the 80s. Dating for 10 years, Janet and Richard decided to make their love official and tie the knot this past Memorial Day weekend at Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, Rhode Island. I had the absolute pleasure and joy of capturing their special day.
I have to say that this Rhode Island Country Club Wedding was one of my favorites of the summer. It was all about Richard and Janet and their families love for them. It was simple, yet elegant, and these two are completely down to earth. Plus, they love to party! As their kid's said in their toasts, these two have a more exciting and busy social life than most young people!
They said their "I do's" overlooking the water under a tall oak tree at Rhode Island Country Club. It could not have been a more beautiful day for the occasion - blue skies, bright sun, and warm temps.
We walked over to the edge of the golf course and grabbed some of the formal family shots before heading into the party! A beautiful sit down dinner for 75 guests, incredible band, and LOTS of dancing! It was a TRUE celebration!!
Congratulations Janet & Richard!!
