Anne + Marcus | Narragansett Towers | January 2, 2016
Anne and Marcus are the kind of people you want to go out for a glass of wine with and share life. They are genuine, funny, well-rounded, smart, and balance each other so perfectly. Anne is witty, extroverted, and someone who makes the most of seeing the world and sharing it with others. Marcus is fairly introverted, but confident, humble, driven, and clearly in love with Anne. Their respect and mutual support for each other is admirable and I know this friendship and partnership will be a strong and fruitful marriage. I was lucky enough to get to know their story and capture a bit of their day as they became Mr. and Mrs.!
I love everything about the timing of Anne and Marcus's story - serendipity! They both moved to Newton, MA, a year apart, almost to the day! They both showed up at the same pub on the same night, and were introduced by the manager. They shared a corner of the bar that night and have been together ever since. These two are each other's ying and yang. When they first met, Marcus was 100% focused on his work as an engineer. So much so that he'd never been on a vacation! Anne opened his eyes to vacations, and outings - Marcus has caught the travel bug and can't wait to go on his first trip out of the country this fall. Anne is the gregarious, worldly one who loves being with her friends - Marcus has grounded her a bit and inspired her to be more focused on her work as an event planner.
Anne's dream of a New Year's wedding with a winter wonderland scene could not have been more perfect for this Narragansett Towers Wedding. Wow! Every detail was to perfection and as Anne said, "it was exceeded every expectation I ever had". From the pristine bouquet, to the "Sip, Sip Hooray" coasters, to the twinkly lights strung up all over the venue, to the beautifully crafted foods, the night was a definite celebration.
How cute is this little emergency kit that Anne happened to have?? Good thing she did have it…the rings were accidentally left back at home and these emergency rings saved the day! When I arrived at the venue, we ran through a quick trial run of the ceremony, before Anne put on her dress! Then we braved the cold and went outside for family photos and some photos of the bride and groom before the ceremony, just as the sun was setting and the colors off Narragansett Bay were soft pinks, blues and yellows. It could not have been more beautiful light to capture this sweet couple.
I cannot get over that beautiful bouquet of winter whites by FlowerThyme - it blended so well with her gown and the soft wedding fur. Two things I love about winter weddings - winter whites and furs.
The ceremony was just as magical with the sun setting in the background, and christmas trees and lanterns illuminated throughout the intimate space. It truly was a winter wonderland!
This last photo is my favorite part about the end of the ceremony - BIG group shots! I love getting all the wedding guests together for a quick photo to celebrate the bride and groom and share in their excitement of just becoming Mr & Mrs.
And now it's time to party…Check out the elaborate cheese boards and beautiful cocktails!
The cocktail hour evolved into the dinner and guests were invited to stations around the hall for tasty bites by Blackstone Catering. Guests were also invited to sample pieces of cake, colorful macaroons, and chocolate cigars. And don't forget those custom cocktails at the bar!
The celebration continued throughout the night with dancing among the twinkly trees, more of those delicious custom cocktails, and all the winter furs!
It could not have been a more perfect celebration for Anne + Marcus's New Years winter wonderland wedding at Narragansett Towers!
