Fabulous at 40 | 40th Birthday Party

Roxanne contacted me a month or so ago about photographing her 40th Birthday Party at her home in Attleboro, Massachusetts. It sounded like a great idea to have a photographer capture a monumental moment in life!

When I showed up at their beautiful house in Attleboro I realized that this was going to be a gorgeous party to celebrate such a well loved and genuine woman.

It was a perfect summer night in New England with tons of natural light peeking through the trees of Roxanne's backyard.  Easy Entertaining, a farm to table catering company, had set out a fun "crisp" appetizer bar with different salsas and spreads. As guests arrived they could grab a "Viva La Playa" or "Flatiron Cooler" or "North Shore Summer" from Kirstine at the bar; grab a game of bocce; and mingle with friends. It was such a casual, yet impeccably styled backyard celebration.  As a Creative Director for Merida Studio, Roxanne, had spent months planning the details. As a detail oriented person myself, I can totally relate! The details are what make a party beautiful, heartfelt and personal.

I was in LOVE with the beautiful table arrangements. The bright turquoise napkins contrasted perfectly with the burlap runners, hanging bulb lights, and the mason jar flower arrangements. Not only did the decor scream summer, but the delicious food provided by Easy Entertaining was just as fitting. Buttermilk brined chicken, pulled brisket, tomato mac 'n cheese and lobster rolls were on the menu! Yum yum yum!

The best part of this party? Roxanne was so happy. Genuinely happy to have those she loved all in one place. And happy to have someone photograph these special people and relationships. She said, "During my 39th year, I did a lot of reflecting of my life and the people around me.  I wanted this party to be a tribute to them and for thanking them for being a part of my life". I think you nailed it on the head Roxanne! Happy 40th Birthday to you!
