2015 in Photos

2015 was a big year for both Maria Burton Photography and myself personally. Maria Burton Photography grew beyond what I ever imagined possible and it is still going! I am continually humbled and in disbelief that this once-hobby-turned-business evolved into a dream with endless possibilities. I have taken a lot of wrong turns, some back alley ways and some dirt paths to get here, and I still feel like I am on the uphill climb most days. It is encouraging though to know that I am not alone, but that hard work and good relationships bear ripe fruit. And I have made some good relationships in this business.

You, my clients, are what make this dream a reality. I am thankful each day for each of you. For sharing your story. For trusting me to capture some of the most important days in your life. For making me smile. And dream bigger. And for allowing me the pure joy to do what I love to do. It's a rare thing in this world to jump out of bed each day excited to live out what you feel you were meant to do. I am blessed to be able to do both: jump and pursue my passions.

I also jumped into 2015 personally. With high hopes, big goals, and a whole lot of figuring it all out. My husband and I conquered our first year of marriage. We came back alive from our month long honeymoon in Thailand & Vietnam with a deeper appreciation for our country, each other, and the magic of travel. Our house renovations continued and tested our patience and goals. And we became a part of this strong, respected, and generous community of people that we now call home. I can finally say whole heartedly that Rhode Island is where I feel at home. These are two very big steps in my world.

And so I thought in the midst of purging, streamlining, and goal setting for 2016, I'd take a look back at 2015 and gather my favorite photographs from each session from this year.  I photographed so many people, in so many places - Newport, Providence, Rhode Island, Nantucket, Boston, Connecticut, Massachusetts! It was certainly tough to find the best photos from each session - so many memorable moments to chose from! But the overall theme in each of these is the happiness and joy in each person's face. My wish for my clients is that they look back on these photos and see sweet memories - of joyful times of the past and exciting things to come for the future. These people, these memories, these photographs help me preserve that feeling, that space in time that will never return.

Here you have it folks, 2015 in Photos.

Wishing you and your families a happy, healthy & joyful 2016! Thank you again for all of your business and support in 2015!!
