This time last year I was prepping to photograph a beautiful winter wonderland of a wedding at Bittersweet Farm in Westport, MA. Cristy and Billy got married on February 1, 2014 and it was picture perfect. The weather was relatively mild and allowed us to take advantage of the natural light in a rustic setting. With a fresh layer of snow on the ground and twinkly lights in the barn, it was truly a winter wonderland. I was so honored to be a part of their big day.
Cristy and Billy have been together for years and have such a sweet love for one another. They are both incredibly kind, genuine and fun people. Very down to earth. And they love their adorable daughter Laine more than anything. And truly, thats all they wanted for their wedding. No big fuss, just genuine fun with the people they love. And that's exactly the vibe you felt at Bittersweet Farm last winter.
They definitely went with the rustic style for their wedding. Old jars with sprigs of pine accented the tables, an old window pane adorned with photographs over the years welcomed guests upstairs, and the twinkly lights all over the barn gave off a rustic, warm glow. And oh that fur…Cristy wore a beautiful fur that I just could not get enough of.
This first look was sweet and hysterically funny all at the same time. Billy took his job very seriously. So seriously in fact that Cristy practically had to pull him around and pull his face to hers for him to look. And can I say how in love I am with this black and white series?? It was a pretty sweet first look for the bride and groom in this rustic, beautiful field.
After the first look we spent a bit of time together roaming the grounds of this cool farm and taking advantage of the amazing natural light. I cannot get enough of these pictures in the snow.
Happy 1 year anniversary Cristy & Billy! Wishing you many more years of health & happiness as a family of three!
